Got this girl in the mail today....she was a bit bigger than I was expecting, but I'm thrilled. She was also totally calm when I took her out of the container for a look. Thanks Cody/spider!

She barely fit on my arm :)

Now see, photos like that make me wanna rethink my decision about not getting a Poec. I love the colors, and I really like the size, the look, tank set up possibilities but the whole "they're SUPER fast and the venom is considered more toxic!" thing has me very hesitant to get one. Then I read posts like this one, with great photos BTW, and I think, "Awww, they're not so bad. Maybe I should get one :p " :D

Their reputation is bad - but they don't quite live up to it ;-) except for P. ornata that is ;-)

HOLY cow

I would be scared to death to do that!

NICE pictures though! But it freaks me out to think of my Regalis on my hand!
I guess all the bad reading, but they are super fast!

That is a very pretty girl!

Thanks. I already like her a lot :) Once I get her settled in, I'm going to begin the hunt for a male. She was really calm when I had her out on my arm, maybe because of just being shipped.

nice girl Joy! how big do you think she is?
Here's my female in this THREAD

and she's molted since then. She's now about 6.5" or so..... I currently have her living with a mature male in a 10 gallon.
She ended up molting in a 1 gallon WITH THE MALE in there with her...I had NO idea she was about to molt...as she just molted 3 months ago.

Beautiful regalis and maculata.
Nice pix Pategirl.

Has anyone else noticed that we seem to see more girls holding the "hotter" species, as opposed to guys?
What does this say?

Are women able to build more of a bond with their tarantulas?
Do they foster more of a fearless nature than men?
Or are they just completely insane?

I think Joy knows what she is doing along with a little insanity/braveness. I hold my defensive sp. too, but not too often.

See they are not that bad!
She would not go any further onto my hand, but hey she could still nail me if she wanted too. ;P

Sorry for the crappy quality, I didn't take the pic as that is my hand.

I`ve held my spiders too. I`ve held the two that Joy has shown there. I held that very Regalis! And the Maculata.

You all should remember, Showing off the spider after a fresh molt.
