I was just wondering if anyone's tried to use a habitrail setup for burrowing T's. Or would that not work? Do they absolutely need to burrow through substrate or is it just to give them a place to hide?
As long as the trails don't go up and down for more than 4-6" in vertically and it was mostly set up as a horizontal maze it could make for some very interesting tarantula observing!
Unfortunately, a bit costly to set up...
I'm sure they would use the tunnels, not necessarily as hides but as safer travelling routes. It sure would be an interesting experiment!
We have several hamsters and I thought of using a spare habitrail and/or just using some tube pieces as a hide. The seem a bit narrow to me. How wide to the Ts body/legwidth does something need to be for them to feel comfortable in it?
