Hi folks -

This here be my first thread and conversation here. I be a neophyte. anyways. One very pretty tarantula is now in my care and safe keeping......

Her name is Fluffy. (ain't she pirty?)

I have questions. :?

#1 Is she a Mexican Red Leg? (Aphonopelma emilia)?
#2 Is she a she? (Do I need to photo the undercarriage of such a shy girl to determine the chromosomes?; evidently in the "tail end" (so to speak) of a molt?)
#3 She's approximately 15 years old?
#4 What do I do with her?
I give her water to suck on and a half dozen crickets every month or so.
#5 Is she bored?
#6 Does she like the movies?

#7 Any other info/data would ccertainly be most welcome!

(I hope to hell her pic goes through with this message.)

Thanks in advance!

Y'all come back now, y'hear?!

A picture would help.

If she is 15 yo then I would imagine it is a she. And half a dozen crickets a month seems a bit peckish.

Hy !

Hm, if she is about 15 Years old, it is surely a She ! Males only became 3 Years old, rarely 4...
If it is an emilia, it is not a Aphonopelma, but a Brachypelma !
Water and Crickets are alright, but i think, Locusts will be better...
Keep the soil dry in one half and moist in the other half. I do so with my emilia, so she can always chose her prefered Place...

Greets, Andreas
