If it's a male he'd tear the whole thing up later himself, and even if it's a female she'd destroy part of the moulting web for outside access. So no worries, go ahead!
If it's been a day or two, you could carefully remove it without harming the spider (I'm assuming the freshly molted spider is resting nearby).
If it's a very small spider, trying to sex it could be moot. If that's the case, don't bother frustrating yourself. Throw the molt away when the spider throws it out.
