Are there any species of theraphosids native to Spain, or France? I have read about something native to southern spain and portugal but cannot get a latin name for the life of me.
thanks

Ishnocolus holoserceus
Ishnoocolus valentinus
I belive these can be found in parts of Spain and Portugal or if you go as far as Cyprus and Turky you may find some Chaetopelma sp. like anatolicum, gracile & karlamani .I exspect there are more just waiting to be found though! :)

The correct name is ischnocolus valentinus, not Ischnocolus andalusiacus or
Ishnocolus holoserceus.
She lives in south and east's coast, under greats rocks.
Temperature: 18º C at night and 22º c by day.
Isn't aggressiveness but very very fast.
Size: females 5-6 cm(about 2") males 2-3 cm

A pic of Valentinus

I got information that before now the same specie was differentiated in three; Ischnocolus valentinus, Ischnocolus andalusiacus and Ischnocolus holosericeus. But after a classification, it was checked that the three of them were the same, that is, they correspond to a one, Ischnocolus valentinus.

Well, if this is indeed true, I think we can expect a change in classification of these species within the next 10 years maybe!!
