Hi all, my female hottentotta spp. is gravid, she is currently housed with a male of about equal size, can the male safely stay in the enclosure? Should I remove him before the little ones are born? any info will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Darrell.

While there is a chance everything would be fine, you may as well remove him rather than risking it. Given the space requirements for this species, I see no advantage whatsoever of keeping them together.

Cheers,
Dave

Thank you Dave, I was hoping you would reply. I will not risk losing him, I shall keep them separate for safety.
Cordially,
Darrell.

It isn't him you have to worry about so much as him eating the young or stressing the female to the point where she eats the young.

Cheers,
Dave
