Wow! Those are great photos! I've never seen a terrestrial T molt while on the side of the tank (or kritter keeper). Mine always go under ground for the process unless they're arboreal.
Don't you just love the velvety black on the B vagans?!? It's so smooth looking!

Awesome fotos!!! I still haven't got to see any of mine molting yet since they always do it late at night :(

Nice, if you don't know the sex I'm sure you could post a pic and the board could let you know... I can't wait for my Vagans to get that velvety black

The abdomen is slightly deformed, no?
This is probably because of the unusual position it chose. I had a similar experience a little while ago, injuries to the abdomen were the consequences.

The spider I am speaking of also lost all setae (hairs) on the back of the abdomen, am I seeing the same in yours?

Was this corrected in the next molt? Any more details on your experience?

All the red setae were gone. Small bald spot developed almost immediately.

My b. vagans had a bad molt, similar experience, bald area on abdomen. It looked similar to the rings of a tree the way it came out. It had two molts since and it looks perfect. The molt after the bad one came very quickly.

I think you might have picked up a sherism, no? {D

Excellent pics Bean. I have two B. vagaans, much smaller, but one did just molt last week... I love this species, love NW.

Actually, I truly can't remember noticing you saying that.

'Tis excellent, though!

@Bean: She hasn't moulted yet, but I do expect it to be corrected. Not worried at all in other words. Details about the slightly unsuccessful moult here (http://www.arachnoboards.com/ab/showthread.php?t=31141).

The boehmei in question was not only bald, the abdomen has a deep scar (you can sort of make it out on the first picture below), looks like a wound. Yours has come through without such it seems.

There were also three deformed legs. One for real, and two only minorly impaired.

Scar partially visible from this angle:

And the screwed up leg:
