For the hell of it I took out and photographed some of the invertebrates that live in my lounge last night. There are several more that I'll probably take pics of when I next have a spare hour or two.
Here's G.rosea, B.smithi, B.vagans, A.seemani, a common house spider and a "Wandering Violin" (who my wife dropped in her hot chocolate last night. The pic shows her cleaning herself up. She's OK this morning).

Here's the Wandering Violin (Gongylus gongylodes). I know it's out of place on this forum, but she deserves a spot after her chocolate bath.
Very nice Ts. I think that second one is B. angustum not vagans.

Thanks. Definately vagans though. Here's a better angle, showing the red rump.

The "violin" is that some sort of preying mantis? that looks pretty cool.

That last one looks like a Brown Recluse... I really like that Wandering Violin..

A chocolate bath... i think your violin likes it... :D
Hey Luther,
Do you keep the violin very hot ? Sun lamp of something ?
I was going to buy an egg case from the UK last year....never did.

Luther, you have some wonderful animals there! Nice pics! Each and every time I see a gorgeous B. vagans I sit and wonder to myself why I don't have one yet!

Sorry about using the wrong forum. Thanks for moving the thread.

I keep Wandering Violin a little above room temp. I use various heating mats for most of my inverts, often shared between two or three tanks. She's the most fussy eater of all my mantids, but she's a stunner. Good swimmer too :}
That house spider is harmless. We don't have anything like Brown Recluses here (unfortunately). I'm in the UK. Still, it's a good feeder. It takes regular small crickets and has fascinating behaviour. It's the best free pet that ever ran across my lounge floor.
The B.vagans is one of my favourite tarantulas. She's docile but not a pet rock and after a molt she's intensely black and red.
