View Full Version : Haplopelma sp."Vietnam" mating pictures

I haven't posted any pictures in a long while, so here are a few.

Same as most Haplopelma matings - a little gentle stroking from the male, some slapping, dis-coordinated drumming responses from the female, a VERY aggressive pairing (he "rapes" the female while she struggles madly) and then he jumped out of her way and landed on the floor (Pic 8)

very nice pictures, it looks like the male hurt one of its legs :(, is he ok

He's fine, just made a "leap of faith" and landed awkwardly, freezing on the spot. He'll live to fight another day....made of tough stuff this one - he's already had one palp savaged in a previous pairing but it still seems up to the job

Congrats! Too bad you're way across the big pond. Would love to get some slings when you have em. Need to find a mate for my female someday. Beautiful Haplopelma species.

i am curious how did u find they are the right pair to breed since lotta H.sp male looks so close?any tips to share?
