My B. Californicum doesn't hold her trap door closed anymore. She hasn't eaten any crickets lately, and when I went to check and make sure she was still alive by seeing if she was holding her trap door shut it just came open, I can't see down into her hole. So should I be expecting a molt??

was the trapdoor held down by silk? I know that in the species of trapdoor I keep, Antrodiaetus unicolor, the doors are always sealed shut with silk. If you don't notice a change in two weeks or so, i'd check it out. By the way, did you collect this specimen your self?

No, this species holds its trap door down by itself. They few times I've tried to look down the trap door it always was holding it, this time it opened with ease, no signs of silk holding it down or anything. I bought this spider from E-spiderworld, no trap door spiders around my area.
