I visited a neat petshop near Pittsburgh, PA. Its on rt 22 in Plum, PA near Monroeville, PA. I saw the petstore's ad on tv and they showed a P regalis walking in its tank. Had to find this place and it turned out to be practically across the street from the Super8 motel we were staying in. They have a very nice clean store. Lots of exotic birds and reptiles and a few arachnids.
The people working the store know their birds well. They have cobras and even a Gaboon viper for sale as well as other reptiles which were well kept. They had a lot of the arachnids on bark substrate, but the girl there said they tell everyone to use peatmoss for those who require it, they just use the bark in the store so the animals don't burrow out of sight. They had the biggest centipede I have ever seen there. They let me look at the King baboon tarantula and I was able to touch it and get it to walk out of its hide to get a better look. They also had different scorpions as well as several tarantulas and centipedes. They have all the supplies you need to set up tarrariums for reptiles and arachnids. The girl told me that the owner had the P.regalis at his house, but when the ad first appeared on tv, they had several people come into the store wanting one. Guess he got them for them. Wish I knew who the guy was or could talk to him. I just was impressed with his store and looking forward to going back there.

Sharon pretty much said it all. I bought my first T. there a few weeks ago and was pleased about the experience. Staff all seemed knowledgeable, store was clean, and selection was good. I was there twice a week and a half apart and some of the T's I was considering we already sold. I think they move quite a few. They also said they could get almost anything you want.

I agree it is a very nice store with plenty to chose from. They have a decent selection on inverts, lots of snakes (non & venomus), lizards, torts etc. My one and only gripe is their prices. They have everything marked up its ridiculous. $60 for a rosie tells you all you need to know. I don't mind visiting the shop, but will never make a purchase knowing I can get the same T shipped & it still be cheaper! i would say 7 out of 10.

I know the owner Mark Henderson personally. He does have by far the cleanest, neatest pet shop around. I will agree his prices are really high, but he has a lot of overhead too. I`m not making excuses for it ($60 G. rosea) but that is the reason. I go there a lot myself just to look around and talk to some of the staff (Jason).
