While the store itself was pretty impressive, and the rest of the animals appeared to be well cared for, I've never seen tarantulas kept in worse conditions.

Dirty deli cups, filled with cricket remains, poop, and dried out, moldy paper towels...all housing poor little Avic avics...

I wish I could say it was totally due to a lack of knowledge, but they had an A. versicolor there, who was actually set up pretty well, aside from the cotton in the water dish. This leads me to believe that because the little A. avics don't carry a high pricetag, they aren't worthy of proper care.

While I admit that oftentimes our arachnids spend more time in transportation containers than we would like, that is not considered a permanent home for any of our animals. Any tarantulas in deli cups were at least relatively new, and were awaiting more permanent homes.
