Hi there, just wondering how I would go about housing and caring for two meal worm beetles. They are too small for my big Ts, and too hard for my little one, and I can't make myself throw them out in the cold garden. Any advice on food, housing, that sort of thing? How long they live also? Thanks in advance! :)

It is very easy to keep and very cheap "feader".

You can keep them in "food substratum" (like flaked oats). I use 5 - 10 cm of flaked oats. Sometimes you can give them some fruits (like apples ect.). They don't need water, they use fresh food to get it. You can also give them some meat, because they need proteins.

The best temperature is 30 - 32 degrees C. They develope in this temperature in 3 - 4 months. In 25 degrees C, development lasts 6 - 8 months. In 20 degrees C.: 12 - 18 months. Pupation takes almost week. Mature insects can live for 2 years.
