Just got in from Elizabeth, New Jersey - got dragged to outlet shops on deal that Tarantula shopping would follow - where I saw the MOST depressing petshop with four sad Grammostolas. I had to dash because I was ready to buy all just to rescue them.
Up the street I saw another and went in to find several more G roseas and one Pinktoe all housed more decently. I had been interested in getting an Avicularia - I already have a small versicolor - and bought the one at this store for 20 bucks... about a 3-4" spider - not bad. It is beautiful and looks rather healthy.
The owner was nice and admitted freely where his knowlege ended on the Eight-Legged Beauties... no bluffing or lying. Just a big smile and a shrug of the shoulders... very good natured.

He had a list from his supplier which I was not allowed to see - although I suspect that it is someone on the Boards here! - and if you know who it is, the spider I bought seems very healthy. Good job.
