Mantisfly

Thought I'd just share this pic I got a few days ago of a mantid lacewing. It's the first one I've ever seen in person... I love finding new inverts (and there's so many out there I'll never have seen them all ). These ones are pretty cool, the way their front legs have developed to be so similar to the true mantids! Great photo. Mantispidae are awesome neuropterans. Larvae of this family are parasitic of eggs of certain spiders.

That'd be a delicate job, laying your eggs on spider eggsacs!
