View Full Version : Feeling blue!
My little gigas surprised me with a visit during cleaning/feeding time. Haven't seen this little bugger for MONTHS!

I have a feeling it's not a Hysterocates gigas. So what kind of gigas is it? Sort of looks like an A.seemani to me.

Terri,
There's no way that that's a H. gigas....

I'm thinking it's not a T.gigas either.
regardless what she is nice T.
Sold to me as H. gigas... I believe I got her from Seņor Ocho at the Pomona IRBA show. She BETTER be a gigas, or she's going to need an attitude adjustment!

Are those hairs pink or is that the pic? She doesn't look like any H.gigas I've ever seen, I'll say that, but I won't guess what species she is. It's kinda late, so it might just be me, but she looks like a New World T. :?
She's feisty though, and that alone makes her a cool T.

that is definitely a NW spider.
probably Hommeoma sp. 'blue' or as Eddy says a seemani blue form, although i have never seen one as blue as that one

Wow Ter! That IS blue! YIKES!! :}
Umm... Ter? She's not crawling into the kitchen sink is she?? {D :D
Greg :)
Well, she's still quite small, we will just have to wait a few molts and see if the blue does fade to brown. She really doesn't have any leg striping, and her tummy is gigas pinkish rather than seemani pinkish. And, she lives at the BOTTOM of the dirt, which is also gigas-ish.
Greg, she wanted to help me do the dishes!! ;)

It's always fun when a T makes a surprise appearance! Especially when the camera is handy. If you see it out again you'll have to try and get a more clear pic so we can have a better look!

COULDN'T wait!! :o Looking at that last pic, I myself was beginning to wonder! And, with the handy, dandy T poker, I nudged her little butt out again. And wouldn't ya know it, she's got aphonopelmitis! I'd only caught fleeting glimpses of the little brown sling I brought home, and all exuvia was thoroughly munched before being kicked out of the hole in the dirt. This is the first I've seen of her whole entire self since I've had her!! NOW I NEED A GIGAS!!! Wahhhhhhh! :(

Nice A.seemani though. Sorry you didn't get what you bought!
All my seemanis live in burrows.

 She's a gorgeous girl too!
If this one is a male, I've got two women right here at home that are waiting to meet him. One is very brown and one is more on the blackish side. Altough I was going to ditch my seemanis alltogether. Must make room for all the gorgeous and exotic species that I bring home from the conference!!!
