i'm thinking of raising a hisser colony , and I heard of people using a certain type of paint to mark different members anyone know what paint that is. I think I'm going to use it to mark my breeder males and separate them from my feeder males.

Well, as sombody who has hissers coming out of his ears, I'm not sure why anybody would go to any eloborate pains to designate certain roaches as "breeders". I've never done anything other than keep the colony fed and watered and they reproduce like crazy, I probably have thousands. When I feed them off, the only distiction I make is size, and that depends on the what I'm feeeding them to.

Anything marked as a 'paint marker' and 'non-toxic' should do the trick. I've used similar things before myself. If the paint has any thickness to it at all offset the marking to the side. Cockroaches split down the middle of the back and a thick coat of paint in that area could prevent separation and pin it in the molt.
