i was so proud of this setup when i came up wwith it, and even more proud when it was featured in a local art show. The enclosure is actually a shadowbox display case, with an opening front sealed magnetically, making maitenence a breeze! of course now that i have said this, someone is probaly going to tell me that this has some adverse effect on the spider, or that this has been done before. (That isnt a swipe at the boards, i'm just saying i have bad luck!) here are some pics of the spider and enclosure.

That is so damn cool that I'm sorry to say I may have to steal the idea to spruce up my room a bit.

I have seen stuff like this before, not sure if it was on the board or not. It was a bigger shadow box though. I was thinking about doing one myself.

I HAD A DREAM LIKE THAT! but it was HUGE ant farm hanging on my wall. I thought it was cool, but i forgot to post it. I even thought about building it, but i dont care much for ants.

Awsome Idea, very artistic!

Its in the Lactrodectus Pics thread here:
http://www.arachnoboards.com/ab/showthread.php?t=4898&highlight=photo under post #18 I believe...It's my photo rig I built when I first began photographing my widow spiders about two years ago...It is not a shadow box frame like yours...but one I made that easily comes apart to remove the spider...the top section of the frame in the photo is actually held in place by two nails which easily remove and allows the top piece to slide out allowing the removal of the spider and props.

That is a super cool enclosure... I think I may have to give it a try.
And I feel that I must mention that everytime I see the title of this thread I read:
