Can anyone post some pics of any of the wandering spiders, I've just got a small spider (1cm body 4cm span)that came in a bunch of bananas by the descriptions I've read online and in a couple of books it could be a wandering spider but I'd like to make certain (for obvious reasons!) Did a quick google and all the pics were straight on not many from above (if it is a wandering spider I don't want to get too close to the dangerous end :) )

Try this link. It follows the growth of the potential spider in question. Lots of quality pics for reference included.

i suggest you take caution if your assumption is correct, phoneutria are among the most venomous of all spiders. but they are still pretty cool.

Don't worry I was being VERY careful. Found the little guy a couple of days ago legs tucked under dead as a dodo :( Still not sure what it was but thanks to everyone for their information.
