My friend ordered some snakes from Tanzania and got these mysterious spiders among them.
Now we are wondering what are they?! :?
LS is about 2"
Spider number 5 is propably Gorgyrella inermis, but thatīs the only one I can ID.
Please help. :worship:

oh wow, these are all awesomes spiders ... you lucky, sorry Icant ID any ... dd you pay for 'em ? If no im gona admit in vry jalous
5 and 2 are some kind of trapdoor spider, I cant say exactly the species

#3 looks like this one i saw in another thread. it has a very long common name . i'll check it out.

okay. 3 is an "east african shiney grey tunneling spider" (Barychelidae).

and according to that page, 2 is an East African Black & Gold Trapdoor Spider (Stasimopus sp).

#3 looks indeed very simular to the one i have: (prob.Barychelidae)

But I couldnīt find anything else with that name, so thatīs possibly wrong.

Yep picture 5 is Gorgyrella Inermis, I got one myself last week, and it's made a neat little burrow in the corner of the jar I've got it in :) I covered the sides with a black bin bag to cut off light to the burrow so the spider doesn't web so much and it's really cool to be able to get a clear look into the trapdoor's burrow! Most pics I've seen of trapdoor spiders have had the burrows in the middle of the container, so I feel really glad that mine chose the side! Here's a picture of my little cutie the day after she started burrowing:

hey, u live in birmingham. I was going to get the same as pic 5 from a shop up selly oak, but when i went to buy it it had been sold... i bet thats where you got yours from ddnt ya? lol
