HAs anyone else seen this video? I got a copy of it off of Ebay and watched it last night. Just wondering what others thought of it. I know it's a little outdated, but it seemed like the video was more about the tribe from S. America than it was about the "Giant" tarantula.

It's pretty good. I show it to my class every year and they love it!
It does exagerrate the image of the "giant tarantula" (whatever species it is - possibly T. blondi?) and makes it seem like a monster, but it's still interesting to watch the T in its natural environment.
The video is at school now, but I remember reading the back cover and laughing at its description.

I just got this from amazon for 1.50 and watched it last night. It was an interesting film, espescially the T. blondi taking down a 2.5 foot fer de lance, but it devinately over exxagerated the potency of the goliath's venom. Stuff like, "There are no confirmed bit reports, perhaps none have survived it's bite," is a little far fetched, espescially conidering we have people on this site bitten by a blondi who suffered no long term effects.

i am steadily wearing my tape of it out :)
some of the text is a little laughable, and they do dig at hobbyists a tiny bit... but over all it has stunning shots and gives a great feel for where some of our giant friends come from

yeah i got this.its not bad.that scene with the snake is so staged tho.just like the other video that had footage of the avic eating baby birds.

I don't think the snake thing was staged. I read somewhere, I think rick's website, that they thought they would lose the T they had invested so much time in finding and constructing the camera burrow for, and where surprised when the T took out the fer de lance.

most, if not all, use a bit of both. I find that nat geo is the worst at it that i know of. most of the nat geo 'bloodbaths' are..T vs 'pede, scorp vs scorp vs some rodent cant rememebr atm. im sure the list goes on, lol
It does teach, but i dont find it particularly good that a nature orientated company sets fights up. it kinda provokes feelings similair to how i feel about dogfighting.. i know their nothing alike, but meh
