My house spiders

I caught some house spiders and placed them into a container.

One of them looks like a regular spider, brown, 8 legs, 2 feelers.
The other looks weird, it has 6 legs (will b 8 but the other 2 dont look like legs) and...

omg ive just realised they are both the same species LOL
the 6 legs are because 2 are missing, and it has funny feelers that look like they have a lump at the end but they must be hooks?

The funny looking one was approaching the other and it started rubbing its feelers on the others underneeth near the book lungs. Then the normal looking one walked away and the funny one moved away too.

While they were in the clasp it looked like the funny looking 1 was rubbng the other ones book lung area. and it was twitching legs and its abdomen.


I dont know mutch about mating but maybe this is what they just attempted doing.


Anyone shed some light? I will look for a picture of the spders and find out what they are :P

they are approaching again, the 8 legged one is eating and keeps running away, 6 leggs is very keen 2 get over to it!

looks like 6 legs is drumming with his two front legs, funny thing is he is drumming on the roof haha

he keeps chasing the female and she just runs off with her meal.

im convinced they are male n female :P

It was more of a guess than a rock solid answer. Identification isn't really my thing. I'm trying to learn, though

Looks like Tegenaria Agrestis to me. I have a breeding pair of them. That is mating alright. Mine live in the same tank together and have mated a couple times. The female has started to make an eggsack. I am going to let them go soon and see what happens with the eggs. I like them but I need the tank for a T. so they must go. If they are infact Tegenaria Agrestis be carful. They do bite and will give you a nasty blister type wound that may turn into a staff infection. Nasty stuff!

house spiders in my house are brown recluses...

thats not really a good thing though.
