This is a great news. {D ...approx 2 months ago I bought a female P.chordatus....then she burrowed her self for all the 2 months I thought a moult is coming but then I thought it might be that I bought her gravid....and yes that was it...today the slings emerged from the burrow they are all over the webing..as you can see from the photo the burrow is situated under the rock but it surly runs under the bark up to the left side were there is a concentration of webbing....now my question is....do you think I have to destroy that fantastic burrow to collect all slings....in my opinion I would leave her be then let the slings carry out there natural instinct which is survival of the fittest since is I collect them and separate them I would not have anything to feed them at the size they are...since her in Malta you only find mealworms and crickets(although its been long time now since I bought crickets...they are really rare these days)...so I think I let them be then when I can catch some I do. Till know they surly passed the 2nd instar...

Ok this is one of the slings which I could photograph the others are allover the webbing and in the tunnel as usually they come out but still on the web, any opinions from you guy of what had you done in my place...leave them be or destroy the nice burrow... (I like burrows just to let you know)...

I would just get a chopstick or something on that order and as the slings emerge Id coax it into a wee deli cup or vial. No need to destroy her beautiful burrow. Just snag em as they come out. :D

Pokies will readily eat mealworms. Just find the really small ones and they will eat them.

Till now I’ve caught only one…but the mother is so protective that if I poke some part she immediately get on the defensive and after 10 min she redo the web in that part from were I poked…the ones I am catching I am separating them in different canisters immediately. Hope I catch some more

I suppose you could try lureing the female out and putting her in a seperate container while you remove the young. I think it's better for the safety of the young that they be removed. Sure it'll cause a little stress on the female, but you dont have to worry about her eating an eggsack anymore :)
