The male is the clue. Ornithoctonus males all looks like this:
http://giantspiders.com/O_aureotibialis_male.html
Notice the robust legs and the bicoloration: Black femurs and tarsus and remaining segments pale and fuzzy.

The male in the thread is typical Haplopelma with long slender legs, uniformly coloured with faint leg striation. I would assume the female to belong to the same genus as the male or else he would have been food.

Søren

For all it's worth I have a male with my female for over a month now. So with a little bit of luck we can continue the breeding efforts of this stunning little species. But it's a long and slow road as the batches are very small.

Martin,

I already did, but he said to ask Soren! LOL He said he has no luck with them.

I was going to, but I see that Soren already has his mated...

Ah well... no trip to Europe for this fellow I am affraid... unless someone else has females to mate and is able to handle an import.

At a glance it does appear very similar to "Surat Thani" I have kept in the past

I'm not sure what a normal average for this species is but it appears like there's close to 100 eggs in here I'd say.
