Hello! I hope this message finds everyone well. Rather than hijack the previous thread, I figured I'd just start my own.

I'd be interested in meeting any other Arachnoboards members that plan on attending the Chicago NARBC this coming Saturday, 10-08. Just look for a bald white guy, with beige corduroys and a Rollins Band t-shirt; I shouldn't be too far from Botar's table or Theraphosid reeding Project. If you see me, feel free to say "hi". See you there.

Later!
Brian

Hey
It was fun, saw a few people....Schlyne (of course) Bruce n Bill, Botar, Brian F (where did you go to?) David Beard and his versi loving entourage....Who'd I forget...? Very nice show, if you live within reasonable driving distance and missed it..shame on you! Some people drove 7 hours+. In fact the car in front of me on the way out had VERMONT plates and was booking east on I80, presumably going to Vt....

I had a blast. This show is definitely my favorite one. Meeting Bill & Bruce, Tony, Schlyne and Mr. Jacobi was a pleasure. I picked up some awesome inverts from Bill & Bruce and Botar so I'm definitely a happy camper! :D

BTW Thanks for letting us take pics of your awesome spiders Tony!

I had a blast. Once again, I missed a "meet you thread" on the 6th...probably becuase I was running around trying to get everything set up before I left.

It was great to met David and his gang, Russ, and Mr. Jacobi. Botar, Tony, Bruce and Bill I see at the swap most of the time.

I wore my AB shirt on saturday...so you might have seen me walking around.

Brian F. I think I saw you and didn't know who it was, oh well.

I won a couple of T's that were donated by Bruce and Bill to the auction.

I compared both of my Nhandus chromatus T's (one is an 03 bought at auction, one picked up in july) and they're the same size!

When I get a chance I'll go through and see if I got any decent pictures of Tony's P. metallica.

After I uploaded the pics, the metallica ones didn't turn out so good lol. My friend Dan got much better pics as usual....the trick is getting him to actually load them lol.

Chicagoland was a great time. I was born and raised there and the whole weekend I was running into people that I hadn't seen or spoken to in 10 or more years.

Bill & Bruce were nice enough to let me put ARACHNOCULTURE on their table, so big thanks to them for that. I traded them a bunch of spiders and picked up a handful from Botar so I brought home some new stuff. Plus I bought a pair of Phelsuma klemmeri ("neon day gecko") and three Theloderma corticale ("Vietnamese mossy frog").

Here are a few photos:

Bruce Effenheim, me, some insane Southern Comfort drenched dude named Keith  , and Ralph Henning
(Ralph is unfortunately unknown among current arachnoculturists, but he was breeding rare tarantulas more than 20 years ago and was my main mentor when it comes to tarantulas. He is one of the true pioneers of this hobby.)

That Southern Comfort is some amazing stuff....it created an electrical field around Keith so that none of the spiders would bite him. LOL ;)

Good time indeed. I picked up some great inverts from Theraphosid Breeding Project (Paraphysa scrofa & A.seemani), Botar (B. klassi & A. anax), and Russ Gurley (Vaejovis carolinianus).

Also got a nice orange albino black ratsnake from Prairieland Herpetoculture and a beautiful albino Nelson's milksnake from Outback Reptiles.

Met a few new people, e.g. Tony, Russ Gurley, & Michael Jacobi; always nice to put a face to the name! I apologize to anyone else that I failed to say hello or goodbye to. Hope all is well with everyone.

Later!
