I'm guessing you're talking about Salamandra salamandra (http://www.caudata.org/cc/images/species/Salamandra/Salamandra_c5LARGE.jpg)? They do look a lot like tiger salamanders (Ambystoma tigrinum (http://michaelcravens.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/.pond/burned-tiger-salamander.jpg.w300h203.jpg)). Cool little guy whatever species it is. A scientific name would probably clear up the mess better than
tiger? sorry evil its a bonified fire

The colors warn that this salamander is poisonous(could this be one of the few ways to use this word on this forum? )

Very nice one you've got there! Do you plan on attempting to breed?

the reason that there called "fire" salamanders is because a long time ago when people threw logs in fires, the "fire" salamander would crawl out of the wood, and they believed they were born thru fire.i payed wholesale price on this guy(about $18)
