god, these things are such a pain to catch in their natural habitat. The slightest disturbance sends them heading into impossibly narrow crevices never to be seen again.
To date, Ive encountered less than a dozen and have only caught one.

I've noticed how fast mine are. One good question I have is that when they're imported is it in large numbers? People here in Montreal talk to me as if they're rare here in captivity. Are they or are they not?

well so far ive caught at least two out of three that i find??? guess they are all juveniles.. :)

nice! Where I find them is in large rock piles and have encountered a few in washes. The rock pile ones I have never caught.
Once I was walking back to my car through a mountain trail (nightime), I actually saw one crossing the path right in front of me on straight flat ground.
My brother voted himself to catch it and within seconds, I had one half squashed amblypygid =(
