Got any idea what kind of Phoneutria it is ? or maybe it's another Ctenidae ?
the one that came to mind when i saw the pictures of Matthijs was this:
P.keyserlingi (http://www.toxinfo.org/toxinfo/db/bilder/Phoneutria_sp.Phoneutria_keyserlingi.800.c.jpg)
ow yeah,...

Thats right. P boliviensis is also a alternative since thats the species that occur in centralamerica where most fruit plantations are located.

Hi,
guess Steven is right on the money.
Who says this is a Phoneutria, was the first question coming to my mind. A ctenid, yeah, most likely, a Phoneutria? Well, maybe, canīt be ruled out so far. However, there are literally tons of ctenid species, that have never been showed on pics before, so who knows...
Would help some to get some info about behaviour and source...
P. boliviensis can be ruled out from my opinion. I guess, some people wonīt like this, but P. boliviensis is the only P. species that can be idīd with some accuracy by itīs drawings and outer-appearance.
Nevertheless, iīd advice you to watch out. Whatever it is, as stated before, Phoneutria spec. is still a possibility. Even if itīs not, most ctenid toxins are still to be discovered, so nobody can know for sure how dangerous their toxin can be to human kind.
Take care!
Greetings,
Stefan
