Hi it is formosa? Isn´t this Ornata ?

Looks more like formosa to me. Check the underside of the 1st leg: ornata - yellow, formosa - white. The underside of the ornata's 4th leg also has more black parts than formosa's.

Yeah, I'm no pokie expert but my P. pederseni doesn't have any yellow on her at all. Where did you get that T? I would definitely find out exactly what species you got there before you breed her to a P. pederseni.
Also, I'm guessing those rabbit pellet looking things aren't your T's substrate? Just thought I'd double check.

Yeah this is regalis not pedersoni sorry!!
I had both slings at one time about two years ago. Got 5 of each in an order and this one must have gotten mixed up or was just sent to me as the wrong species. Not really sure I'm not much of a pokie expert. I would love to breed her though if anyone has a male at a fair price.

...and I love the variability in subfusca! I don't buy into the highland/lowland forms b/c of information I have from reliable sources who have seen both come from the same eggsac. It's just variability...we have lots of that in nature. Just because they look a little different doesn't mean they are separate species! Especially if they come from the same eggsac!

Ha! Nice video...it looked like the male was trying to keep up the with metal drumming in the background.
It always interests me to see the differences between New World/Old World spp. matings...that was SO quick. The New World T's are "gentle lovers"

Why do you say that?
Talkenlate04
10-03-2008, 05:36 PM
I only say that because I have never gotten back to back eggs sacs from a T before. Back to back meaning, egg sac, molt, egg sac. I have never had that happen. (not saying it can't) but I have success when I wait and it goes, egg sac, molt, molt, egg sac. So far this seems to apply to all species I have bred. It seems like they need a that break. So Ill keep trying like I did here to see if my thought carries any weight.
But so far I have tried with 20 or so females and not gotten an egg sac.

I tend to agree that Pokies aren't that aggressive. Alot of the other T's I keep use the threat posture alot more than my regalis, she's a large 7.5 inch female. I give her ample places to hide and she seem comfortable in her enclosure. I personally wouldn't advocate handling your Pokie, but I don't handle any of my T's unless it is absolutely necessary, not from fear of being bitten but out of respect for the spider. I would really feel upset if I were handling one of my T's and it fell and died because of me wanting to handle it. I mean how many people hold their prize tropical fish???
Andy
I TOTALLY AGREE. I have collected and loved T's for almost 15 years now and i never really saw the need to handle them unless it was absolutley necessary. That doesnt happen often. Their safety is always priority number 1.
