basically, no. my B smithi looked like that before he molted, and after the molt his abdomen was normal size again. Just do what you can to keep her from falling (from the walls of her tank or whatever), because it's possible that falling is slightly more dangerous for fat spiders:p don't worry too much though.
<EDIT> Great looking T, BTW!

Thanks. I don't feed her much but she just keeps swelling up like a water ballon:) maybe she will molt soon. The little beast never refuses food.
Her home has low sides, no worries about falling and that was the only time I've ever held her.

Yours looks almost exactly like my little 1" freebie, only his stripes aren't as visible yet. And he might be a little fatter. :D
He too was a bottomless pit, until I finally said "no more!" After a couple weeks I offered another cricket, and he didn't take it, so I guess he finally realized he was done for now. If yours is still going, you can keep offering, I'm *told* they won't eat until they explode (not sure if I believe it, heh). But you can also probably just stop until it molts or starts looking thinner, it should be fine.
For all that he was a freebie, I think he's secretly becoming my favorite. He's not gorgeous yet like my GBB lady, and won't grow as insanely fast as my L. para supposedly will, but he's SO CUTE. And fat. And has mysterious landscaping projects. I've said it before and I'll say it again, nothing cuter than seeing a tiny fat spider with a huge mouthful of peat running across its deli cup, "Look ma! I'm a BULLDOZER! :D "

Looks like it'll molt soon. :)
Be careful with feeding. Even with slings that do seem to be bottomless pit, powerfeeding does have consequences.
Good luck!
She is cute, and right about the size of mine. I have a lot of little slings and when their abdomen starts looking really big and shiny it usually means they will moult soon. My curlys, my red rump, and my brazilian black all looked like that before they moulted. I feed mine about 2 to 3 times a week. She will stop eating on her own soon, I'd bet on it. She isn't fat, she has curves.

Looks just like my little fatties. I only feed mine once a week, and they're at a size where they're taking down full size crickets. They only get 1 or 2 a week: I've read plenty about the dangers of power feeding and I don't want to do that to my critters.

Thanks:) She's eating 2-3 times a week and I'm sure would take more if I offered. She has gotten darker since I got her, it would be great if a molt happened soon.
