@ Marcelo: We are very happy that you are joining us. I will look forward to meeting you.

@ BigBryan: You don't need to know anybody else in the hobby. All you have to do is transport yourself three hours away and you'll be surrounded by them. And I am sure some will be from Houston and then you will know people in your own area that are in the hobby ;)

Cheers, Michael

I'll be there as well, Friday and Saturday anyway. I'm working on a Master's degree part-time and have school on Thursday nights this summer. I'll fly out Friday morning and come home Sunday afternoon.

I can't wait for this show. It should be a lot of fun. See you there!

Hey All,

If you plan on going to the lectures as well as the Expo, please don't forget to register (http://www.arachnocon.info/arachnocon/registration.html) and fill out the registration form (http://www.arachnocon.info/arachnocon/guest_registration.html).

If you plan on just coming to the ArachnoExpo (http://www.arachnocon.info/arachnoexpo/registration.html) on Saturday, then you do not need to register in advance. However, there are dollar off coupons floating around, so make sure you keep on the look-out for them (maybe ask a dealer (http://www.arachnoboards.com/ab/showthread.php?t=63926)). ;)

If you have already registered, then you are good to go. If you just want to check with me to be sure, then please send me an email (info@arachnocon.info).

**Please remember that just by filling out the form does NOT mean that you are registered. :)

If anyone has any questions or concerns, please contact me at info@arachnocon.info (please put "arachnocon" in the subject line) and I will be more than happy to answer all of your questions as best I can. :)

Hope to see lots of you there! :D

Thanks,

Debby

Mori

Mr. Collins,

That's unacceptable. I happen to know that you're coming down with strep throat that weekend. And airfare is often less expensive within 60 or 30 days of departure. Get a part-time job for a couple of months and get your derriere down to San Antone.

Cheers, Mr. Jacobi

And I would also make sure that you go ahead and reserve your room. That is one deadline I can not extend nor control. Once the hotel deadline is over, the pricing is out of my hands at that point (as well as a guaranteed room - could be sold out at this rate). ;)

Seriously, reserve your room if you think there is a chance so you can have one less thing to worry about. You can always cancel the room if your plans don't work out. :)

I have a full time job for the summer, Mr. Jacobi, BUT I have student loans to pay off :wall:. I got in big doodoo last year over taking a day off without permission to go to the CDN arachnogathering for ONE day, SO it is definitely in my best interest to make sure the boss is ok with it ;) .

If I get the time off of work, I am there, 100% promise.

I plan on going. I may be alone, hubby can't get off work and I don't have any friends that aren't scared of "crawly things". I have been watching the air fare but I don't know whether to wait until I can convince a buddy to go with me.

People don't let anything stop you from coming here and making long term friendships! If you don't like me or Michael Jacobi they'll be many others to pick from.

So what all goes on there. Is it worth the trip? Lots of stuff to see and do?

SexyI went to the ATS convention last year. Lots of families, almost equal numbers of males and females, and all ages. And plenty of opportunities for liquid refreshment consuming, if you're into that type of thing (I hear the 60 oz margaritas this year will take best of show)

I will be at the Con. Everything is booked. I will be bringing mead. In fact, I will probably ship it to sky a couple of weeks before the Con. (Assuming that she is okay with bringing my precious booze to the Con and promises not to drink/steal it all.) ;P Btw, I will not be renting a car this year, so I'll have to hitch a ride to the collecting trips.

Matthew

Sexy,

David is right there are almost equal numbers of males and females, and all ages. You'll be welcomed in at first sight. If your coming a day early just wear a spider tee-shirt found @ http://www.spidershoppe.com/ its a dead give away to why your here and someone will talk with you. I'm sure you'll be invited to join in with anyone. If there is anything we can do to help just shoot us an IM and we'll do what we can!

Schlyne,

Great to see your coming! Hitching a ride to the collecting trips will be no problem! We'll have an organized meeting area and plenty of room for all. If you don't mind sitting on the hood!;P Just kiding!

That was completely unsolicited.. I promise  Of course, Matthew is probably referring to my old shirts that he did the artwork for. Those were sold out eons ago. The ones I'm selling now have one of those orange and black itchy spiders on it and isn't made by me! Wait until you see the new ones, though... ;P

I'm probably going to be the youngest one there without a parent, this is probably going to be the only akward part. I think it will be fun to see people i only know through an avatar, and get to know them on a more personal level than print on a message board. I'm only 18 so the fun drinking games might not involve me. I will have my own car though, so i can help with carpooling. My friend is probably going to go to, he is very shy and a "good mormon." We might end up camping down there (we sure as hell can't afford a hotel) so we will have our own underage fun, with no alcohol and sure as hell no smoking, so if there are any ~18 year olds comming let me know.

BTW, there is probably gonna be a TON of C. vittatus for sale after this arachnocon. You scorpion enthusiasts that live in poor scorpion territory are going to go crazy down here (literally 1-2 under every other rock if you look in the right places).

I can't wait! It seems too far away!!!

Yay! Everything but the rent-a-wreck is booked. One daughter and I will be attending the arachnocon. My wife, parents, and other daughter will be along so I will be combining family events in the city with the convention get togethers. This is my first "Arachno" anything so I have a lot of names and faces to put together. I will be looking for T-shirts, etc. We do not have any of our own yet. That little problem will be fixed by the time we leave the convention! In the meantime we are saving pennies and looking forward to seeing you all (Not to mention some arachnids!). Huzzah!!

Glad to see all the enthusiasm and the number of folks planning on attending ArachnoCon. Please remember that the first step is registering and remitting payment via PayPal or postal money order. The registration form can be found here (http://www.arachnocon.info/arachnocon/guest_registration.html).

It seems that many people may be planning to wait to register upon arrival in San Antonio, but we kindly request that you pre-register if at all possible. Planning is complicated by uncertainty of attendance numbers and we have to ensure that we have enough welcome kits to go around. Pre-registration also entitles you to a complimentary limited ArachnoCon edition of ARACHNOCULTURE (http://www.arachnoculture.com) magazine, and allows you to receive one of the custom name badges made by Mark "Windchaser" Yedinak featuring your AB username in addition to your real name. Basically, pre-registering helps us very much and we would appreciate everyone doing so at their earliest convenience.

I also want to mention again the flyer that you can download (http://www.arachnocon.info/promotional_images/full_page_flyer.pdf)and print and ask your local specialty pet shops to post prominently. Please consider printing off a stack if you are attending a reptile show or similar event and asking the promoter's permission to place them on the entry table. If you have a website please add the banner below and link it to arachnocon.info.

Thanks for your support and help. On behalf of the ArachnoCon staff, Michael

We're in the same area. But, we have a 15 passenger van if everyone wants to pitch in and all save on gasoline! We weren't planning on going until right before and we were leaving right after because we can't afford more than three of days of the pet sitter. So, if you wanted to stay longer we wouldn't be the way to go anyway.

Still, it's an idea.

We almost bought the semanni also! I was looking at it yesterday since that Petco is the only place close enough for me to buy crickets if Mike's out of town (I don't drive and so ride around on my big red tricycle!) What are they calling it? A true zebra or something? A couple of the employees are cool. One guy, Luke is particularly nice. He's into crested geckos and other reptiles so I bring my iguanas with me sometimes so he can visit with them.

Well, we might have to make a quick trip into New Orleans for something (no visiting, just an in and trip to pick up some stuff that is (hopefully) still in our yard. Otherwise, I'd say I needed a bottle of liquid crab boil! We can find the bags, but not the liquid. But if I come in I'll get some coffee and crab boil and stuff if it's cheaper than here. Over here it's with the fancier stuff. There it's just with the normal stuff.

I do need to get in touch will Bill though.

Me me me! Stupid me hasn't registered yet though...but I'll come bearing cash when I get to San An. This year's been so crazy it's been questionable whether I was going or not.

Ticket has just been booked, see ya'll there!

I have bad news. Two people walked out of work today. So my manager was crying and begged me to delay my vacation. Soooo, I don't know if I am going or not now. I guess if I go, I'll see you all tomorrow. This sucks.

Wish me luck.

Nooooooooo! You have to go, who else would I get into trouble with? All the help you've given those people, the days off where you got called in....they owe you!

Just get on the plane, you can do it!
