i found three of these, they have a dark brown body and well a abdomen thats black, im asking if they are some kind of dif widow spider. Heres some pics....

can't tell you much about it, except that it's not a brown widow. Doesn't look like a widow at all to me.

It's definitely not a brown widow. Some other theridiid (cobweb weaver) I think. Maybe Steatoda sp.?

ah alright ill get better pics later on today, i really dont think those pictures are doing its justice, i have the "brown widow" in a container rught next to a L.hesperus and they look mighty alike, cept the "brown widow is more brownish and doesnt have a red hourglass marking. Oh and they were both found in the same area. Both under rocks too.

this is no tthe same species but look at the body shape. I am far from a spider expert, but that really does not look latrodectus to me. It does look steatoda like though.

here is a link to see a few other pics of L. geometricus (brown widow) other than these pics the only other color form that I know of is a grey form.
