I've been keeping this spider for a few weeks now. One of the nicest looking gnaphosids, I think.

Very nice colouration on it, a burrower I take it though?

Not a burrower. It's a species of "ground spider". I've seen a few under rocks and logs since I caught this one. I think they just build web retreats under cover.

I think it's about 1/2" leg span right now. Might get a bit bigger but I'm not sure.

I'm not sure what their range is. This one was found in Kansas.

Thanks for looking guys. :)
