Hey all,

my asian jumper, Hyllus diardi molted again and is now either subadult or adult. As the colouration shows, itīs a male!

Now iīm waiting for my other specimen to catch up with growth and present me with a female....

Most def a true heartbreaker, very "expressive" eyes, donīt you think? {D

Hi,

iīve four other specimen sitting here, to get one girl....
...so i guess the chances are pretty ok. :)

Ahh, you noticed the "horns",too! Interesting: all slings, regardless the gender show this "horn-style" hairs. With adults, only female show them, as far as i know, which means the pictured specimen is expected to loose them with the next molt.

This kinda hairs are apparently not species-related, as iīve seen of several other jumper species showing these hairs. Would be even more interesting to learn, if all species show them in both genders while theyīre still immature, with males loosing them with their maturation molt.

Greetings,

Stefan
