Paired 3-25-06
Successful? - Yes...thus far
Any special care or preliminary notes for the lovers - Both specmens were WC. The female was allowed about 30 days to aclimate to her new enviroment after arriving. The male was seen making one sperm web. Temps and RH for both were adjusted to mimic the natural enviroment of their native region.
How they were paired - Male was introduced into female's enclousure after she made herself a decent burrow. He was placed loose in her container.
Any observations on the hookup - Two successfull insertions were wittnessed on 3-29-06 The feamle attacked the male immeditally after insertion, attempeted to pull him into her burrow but he did manage to escape her grasp. He did suffer a puncture wound to the carapace, so was left in the female's container so she could have a good meal.
Any special post mating care - The female is being kept in a dark room with maintained temps and RH at present.
Female has dug out quite the extensive burrow, is gradually putting on weight, so we'll see what happens.
