This is the only invertebrate I've ever owned that I deemed worthy of a name. It is named after the the planet eating Transformer "Unicron". It's the big "pinscers".
Peruvian Scolopendra sp. (thanks Cronoss and Becky!)

I know close to nothing about pedes, but this is about the fattest one I've ever seen! Could it possibly be gravid?

I don't know about the gravid part, but it's for sure that pede has never missed a meal :)

I'm presuming this is a long term captive and it shouldn't be possible for it to be fertilised now, correct?

That said, how long is too long? The reason I ask is that a while back I had a S. polymorpha in my care for a year or so that laid viable eggs. I also have a S. s. dehaani that I've had for about a year as well which has just laid eggs.
I'm guessing that Peruvian has been in captivity for a sight longer than a year though, no?
