View Full Version : New solfugid, with updates!

{D Well, i got him. About 4 days ago i recieved my first Egyptian solfugid {D
I'm keeping it in a 10 gallon tank, with 5" of playsand, and 3 broken flowerpots. I keep it at about 85 F and try to keep readily avaible.

So far, he doesnt eat much at all, and tends to run around the enclosure for up to an hour or more, so i have to throw a shirt over his cage:rolleyes:

I think she just wanted you to check out the care tips in that thread. There are some revolutionary ideas realting to camel spider care in it. :)

Yeah, she was just saying that she posts that in every solfugid thread (correct me if I'm wrong). I agree, that thread is a must-read for anyone keeping a solfugid. Good luck!

i wouldnt worry that of mine, its only eaten twice that i know of, it burrows, and sleeps..... not much, but by FAR one of the most interesting spider ive ever seen, and i could easily sit in front of it's cage with my jaw on the floor watching.

theres some here in nor-cal mountains, some huge guys too. Some around 3". I've seen a few in orland california at my cousins house, a tad bit smaller.

they have some, thats where scorp guy and myself got ours... mines the same size of his, i just fed mine a green grasshopper, ate the whole thing....
yeah all they do is sleep mostly, you can see that they actually breathe, if you look closely you can see their head move from beathing in and out. its weird.

mines still alive and kicking...hasnt eaten in a LONG time...i'll try to get some pictures of it. it sits in one spot, and moves only when i blow on it, or when i turn on the light.

Looking for any type/size/condition of Solifugae, will pay money for specimens DEAD or alive. Apon death freeze specimen, protected in several plastic bags, and notify me.
