house spiders

i'm more of a scorpions person, so this is probably a silly question:

how large does a "house spider" have to be in order to be able to kill and eat a 1/3" cricket fairly reliably? I ask this because i am considering "further domesticating" some of the spiders around my house, and i don't really have feeders at the moment that are smaller than 1/3" crickets...
