I found this spider under a binder I had laying on the floor of my room for quite some time. She had a huge pile of bugs under her so looks like she's been doing a good job keeping my room clean :)
I thought it was a black widow at first but it's slightly smaller and a brown color. She had an eggsack with her too. I couldn't see any hourglass shapes on her, just some white arrow markings on the back. I looked up pics of brown widows online and they look a bit different from this one but maybe it's just a color morph or an orb weaver. What do you guys think?

well you have found one of the spiders known as a "false widow" it is a Steatoda grossa. I have one as a pet.. not a real widow but the bite can still give you a nasty blister! so enjoy but be careful!

Definately grossa. Looks like that one about to burst out a big sac too. :)

Mine got VERY mean when she laid a sac.. so watch out!! they do get aggressive!
