Hi.
My dad found this spider crawling around his room and he wants to know what it is.
Can anyone identify this spider, please?

More than likely its a Phiddipus audax. Harmless and cute as a button IMO. If you want a absolute positive ID, post it on bugguide. :)

Thanks! Google wants to know if you meant "Phidippus audax" ;)
Cute? A spider? Um... NO! I vehemently disagree! ;P
Off to bugguide! Thanks again!

Looks like a Phidippus audax, aka Daring/Bold Jumping Spider to me as well. Perfectly cute and harmless.

Some of them have white dots/bands some cream or yellowish-orange. I've noticed the younger specimens are more colored and the older ones are whiter. Don't know if its just the way I'm noticing it or not, however.

They're fun little spiders to keep around. I've got several in my home since its been frosting outside. They're quite content to wander around my walls and ceilings getting the other bugs that have come inside to keep warm as well. ;)
