Hi guys,

I caught them on Crete, on my late honeymoon. ;) Do you have any clue what species?

7 legged female (I found her with 7 leg)

The box size in diamater is 8cm.

Here is a pic where I found the mom with the babies

Looks like a Hogna radiata to me.
Did you found her sitting under a piece of rock or in a vertical tube in the ground?

Hi,

She was under a rock...but too big for a Hogna radiata....I think.

cool pics :) i see those quite often when i visit Crete in summer (my father's place) but here outside Athens it's very easy to find them too..my time in the army was the best to observe any kind of inverts.all the units were in bushy or foresty places full of all sorts of arachnids and other cool stuff..i miss those days..
