Odd black widow behavior.

My l. hesperus has ripped a whole in her egg sac and the eggs are spilling down her container. She did this just seconds ago, as I watched first hand.

yep, that's weird. but at least she got the egs in the sac to start with. i've had a girl make a sac and drop the eggs on the ground then make an empty sac! all-in-all they're pretty unpredictable and their behavior never ceases to amaze me.
