I see that the hotel has an exercise room, though it doesn't mention what machines or features it has. I imagine you'll be able to find me there in the early morning hours. If you want to pump a little iron in the morning, then go for coffee or breakfast, let me know.

I will be there too, if not the local ballys.

I don't want to pay for the guest membership at Bally's, so I'll make do with whatever's in the workout room. Maybe hit the pool.

when I mentioned to some people that hotel pools are usually indoors where I'm from.. they looked at me funny..

just a warning... hehe

Taking a week off isn't going to slow you down. Enjoy your time there. ;)

Outdoor pool? What is that?
Drat! Looks like I will have to go swimming at night.

If the pool is outdoors, then I'll only be able to go swimming at night, too. I like working out, it gives me all of my bounce.

Sorry guys, but it's definitely an outdoor pool.

With the exception of sitting all day, you'd be surprised how much excersize you get while out in the feild.

Good point, though I'm still undecided about going on the field trips since I have no interest in collecting any critters. I'll bring my hiking boots and see how I feel once I'm there.

I love being in the water in the day, I guess because I grew up surfing. The only time I am in the water at night is when I am skinny dipping. :D

Yeah, I realized today that I need to go buy a new swimsuit because I don't seem to own one. :8o

After all the activities you might be too tired to work out LOL. I plan to get my exercise wrangling a big rattler this year hehe

I need to work out so that I have energy for all of the activities.

You're braver than I am, Brian; I like rattlers a lot, but I also like some distance between them and me.

I remember seeing at least one treadmill and an exercise bike at the hotel.

Paige

Will you please force me to do it? I am doing my best to fight the effects of reaching my mid-40s and carrying plenty of extra weight, but I need a drill sergeant!

Thanks, Michael

I can do drill sergeant. I'll even wear my camo.

If there's weightlifting equipment, I'm in.

You'd have to call the hotel to check, but the photo just shows treadmill, elliptical, stationary bike sort of stuff... and I never even looked at the room last year!

The majority of people spend long hours out in the desert heat and long nights socializing with alcoholic lubricants - I'd be surprised if more than a few people entered that room.

Jailhouse workouts work good too.... With a partner, you can do everything you can do with weights.....

I don't drink, so that pretty much leaves me with getting high on endorphins.

Well that makes two of us.

I get in some form of workout every day, so whatever works is cool. Even if its just push-ups.

With the exception of sitting all day, you'd be surprised how much excersize you get while out in the feild.

The collecting trips arent necessarily about collecting. They are called collecting trips, but we are trying to emphasize enjoying the animals in the wild, rather than just grabbing them and running on to the next one.

Its really neat the first time you find a tarantula burrow, and the spider comes up. Same with flipping over a rock and finding that scorpion youve always wanted to see. Besides, there are so many beautiful areas. Many people dont realize how diverse Texas is.

Seriously. I always thought waste-land until I drove through it.... Beautiful country in Texas, and plenty of space to exercise too.
