I just returned from a week long snake sampling trip.............but I took the liberty of also finding many cool spiders.

These beauties were all over in one Indiana State Park

This one was in Indiana as well, clinging to a monstrous rock formation

From a different Indiana site.

These things were all over a lake's shore line in Illinois.

This one is very similiar to the previous spider, but without red cheliceral margins, and found in a completely different habitat. Not sure to species on any of these, havent had the time to look as of yet.

Looks like an Orchard Spider to me - Leucauge sp., probably venusta.

Yeah...I got to stop lumping the long jaws with all the other orbs in my head. Once in awhile I run into a long-jawed out here, but they are never as colorful. I dont think they are Leucauge ...maybe more like Metinae.
