Long time no post! Nothing exciting going on in the buggy sides of my pets so I haven't been on here in a while. But I have a question!
My work just got in a nice "big" T. blondi. At least, as far as I can tell it's an actual blondi. Fuzzy patellas and all but I couldn't get a better look at...
Hello everyone. I am fairly new to Tarantula keeping, and I have a question. My B. Smithi Maxine just sits on her log and even lets crickets crawl on her sometimes. she hasn't eaten in a week. she is 2" in diameter. should I be worried? Thanks in advance.
For somebody who has kept beginner species for a little while, has some basic tarantula knowledge, and wants to try working with a T that is more advanced, but may not yet be comfortable keeping a potent, defensive, quick spider, what are some T's that make up that "middle ground"?
Male molted 2 months ago i think, and i got the female from a german dealer last week.
Today they mated. :) Both are receptive.
Here is the video :
I have this pair of Pamphobeteus ultramarinus, the smaller one is the immature male and the bigger one is a female. I wanted to take this photo of them before it gets really cold. Both are still little the male is 2" inches and the female is 4" inches. Hope it ends up being a good breeding pair,...
(I realize there's probably a million of these lying around...but I always like to see what people have to say)
Anyone have a particular species/specimen they are really enjoying right now? A special favourite or one you've been reading about or interested in lately?
Two have been striking me as particularly awesome as of late, the first is my Brachypelma Albopilosum (Athaliah). She is so comfortable with...
Could you suggest me a T with the following characteristics:
- Not High maintenance
- Slow growing
- Have multiple colors
Thank you very much!
I'm a newbie to T's but I now have a nice little collection.
I also just went to the Reptile Show last Sunday (in Missouri) and brought home 3 little slings....so now I have....
b. smithi - F -5" (MORTICIA)
b. boehmei - sling - 1.5" (ROGUE)
g. pulchripes - sling - 1/2"
c. cyaneopubescens -...
Hi my 1.5 inch rufilata i believed to be about dead. It barely moved when I touched it and I looked last night it was cruel on it's back almost in molt position but in the death curl but on it's back. I looked again today and it's in the middle of molting but still slow moving. I have owned my...
Unfortunately I couldn't get a picture, but I just wanted to share this, as I found it a bit odd. I woke up to find my GBB with something hanging from its mouth. On closer inspection I noticed it was a wax worm cocoon. Looks like one must've gotten away and pupated in there at some point. Anyway,...
My new B Emilia is about .25 in just molted, but it was not entirely successful. The top of her abdomen is still attached, I'm just giving it time and hoping it comes off. Is there anything else I can do, and what are the chances it doesn't live? Thanks
I have a b.boehmei juvenile that hasn't eaten for maybe 2/3 months...she will on the odd occasion have a cricket but it's only if it's right in front of her. Most times she will just ignore it. When I fed her last night she lifted her feet up when the cricket came near her and that was it. She...
Is there any chance someone will be able to help me to tell if my T is a male or a female?
So I knew of a genus or two that shoot poop as a defensive mechanism...and although my avic versicolour sling has left her mark on me which was only a dribble, I'd not really seen adults do it. I YouTubed it and was quite surprised by how much they shoot out and just how much aim there is lol...
I was wandering what the most active species of t there is, if there is one. Tell me about your experiences or just in general.
My E. campestratus 5" female is in pre molt right now and will be ready to breed after this molt. This will be my first time attempting a pairing. Does anyone have any tips on these guys. Sack size, male aggression, when to pull a sack? Any tips are welcome. Thanks
I have done a little research on both T's but i want hard advice!!! i am a novice keeper. i am looking for a T that is active and in the open a lot prefer a terrestrial but not required i have a 28 g
coffee table tank that i want to keep them in. so size is not really important. i would prefer to...
I have a new Singapore Blue spiderling (what an eater!), I had one before and did well with it, but in a large move it died (NOT happy). So this is my 2nd one. They are incredible burrows. I have mine in a Thornton Plastics vial (~ 1.5" diameter, ~2 3/4" tall, the T is about 3/4" DLS) , and will go...
