So I've caught the bug and am now wanting more t's. I currently have a chilean copper and a versicolor sling and now I want something that would make a good display spider, maybe something a little more aggressive and colorful. I was hoping for something that liked to web or had other cool habits....
I was browsing at my LPS and came across this tarantula badly in need of a molt. It was labeled "pink toe tarantula", and they said it might be a metallica, but they weren't sure.
My breeder buddy thinks it's an A. avicularia, does anybody disagree?
Quite honestly, I could care less either...
This species does not get much attention here due to lack of color and other reasons, so to those who
have experience with them or newbies who would like to buy a first tarantula and would like to look
into this very much underrated species, converse about the Albopilosum.
Let me preface this statement by saying I only own two tarantulas (a 3/4'' LP Sling and a 1.5'' LP sling) and they have been in my possession for approximately a month.
My larger LP is molting and I am concerned.
I have attached an image for you to see. I couldn't get a better picture...
So I plan on picking up some new Ts this Saturday and I'm not entirely sure what I should get. I listed the price to see if it's reasonable. Here's a list taken partially from their site. All and any opinions would be great!
1 in. B. Smithi $40
2.75 in. GBB $80
juvie b. Albo $15
Can anyone ID this for me please:
To my best knowledge my A. Avicularia is dropping a sac! I'm just to excited and had to express my excitement to those that care and can relate..:biggrin::biggrin:
So I've been housing 1 G. rosea for about 8 months now who loves to climb. There are periods where the T hardly climbs but more recently they have been climbing up to the top and hanging upside, climbing across the top of the terrarium upside entirely or climbing on the decorative plants and trying...
I just spent the evening rehousing 9 juvenile tarantulas from deli cups into the 6x7x4in accessory box from The Container Store. Great next size before final vivarium stage. Just thought you guys might like to see the pics.
on wensday I will have 14 Ts in my care:) I just got off the phone with paul becker about my order a few minutes ago and on wensday I will be getting a 5" female H. lividum, an OBT, p. irminia, and a A. anax. can anyone give me a little bit of advice about these Ts? and yes I know how the temper...
42 days ago we successfully paired "Bonnie and Clyde". Still no sac from her, but she has been eating well so no sign of molting. She seems to be getting larger on the back end hoping for a sac soon!!!
On another trail we paired Clyde and a new avic. She was on the smaller side not sure if she's...

Avicularia versicolor 1 1/2"
I took the time today to take this photo of the Euathlus sp. "Red", the weather was perfect for her photo shoot.
Euathlus sp."Red" Female
Was just playing with a youtube upload but caught my mm making and harvesting from his sperm web tonight.
I have a juvi avic avic and a p cambridgei teeny sling. I want one more stunning arboreal in my collection. Preferably not too fast/aggressive/venomous. And generally easy to keep and hearty.
Suggestions any body???
ok so some of you may remember when I discovered that my newly purchased G. rosea was finally identified, by me, via research and reading etc, as a MM. He has an impressive set of hooks tbh, he's a champ, I know these things about my little man.. ;)
on to the news;
I have been approached by a...
Anyone have any? Just got this one, it really needs a touch up! Lol
I'm a person who greatly enjoys a little humor to break up my overly stressful and chaotic life. To that end I decided to start a thread especially for funny stories about T's. Pranks played with molts, crazy behaviors, and slapstick moments during care, come one, come all.
Have at it forum people.
I'm just the messenger.
