I, like most, if not all of you, have the 'gimme' attitude when I see a T I like. I'm not too sure how to deal with it properly when I have money I can use. A lack of money is the best thing in the world when it comes to seeing Ts.
I have a young Euathlus sp Red. It can sit on my thumbnail. It molted a few weeks ago, it's finally just showing some color, dorsally on the abdomen. However, the color is not a bright cherry red. It's more of the burnt orange that one sees on E. sp Yellow. My sp Yellow showed adult colors once it...
I'll take a video of this next time.
Most of this group had molted into 4th instar last week and looked to be ready for an adult cricket. I always remove the crickets back legs so the takedown would be easier on them.
For a few month's now I've wanted to purchase a Hapalopus sp Colombia and for some reason I've ended up never ordering and bypassing them for other dwarfs such as paraphysa sp north, parvula etc. As this is gonna be my last order this year I decided it was about time I finally...
Found this little gem. Gave me a chuckle.
I noticed some white spots in my 4 slings enclosures last week. there wasn't a lot but I removed them with a tweezers in case it was mold. I considered that it could be poo so I didn't panic straight away but I did water the substrate less as a pre-caution. Well, my suspicions were right it would...
I have a 1-11/2 inch fireleg sling. I have it in a 4 inch deli cup . Is that too big not big enough? I usually get adults so slings aren't really that common with me.
From what I understand, the eggs won't continue to grow, correct? It's about a 1inch yellow looking worm.
I can't get in there and pull it out due to the Stirmi destroying this roach at the moment inside of his burrow.
I just need to make sure I am not going to wake up tomorrow morning with...
Just messing about with test footage, T only video coming very soon
Any guesses? I initially thought male, but seeing as I suck at ventral sexing, I figured I'd try to get a semi-decent picture for others to guess. Also mods, I'm not sure if you're aware, but the gallery is not a great place to get your spider sexed due to the lack of responses. I'm not saying that...
I had this Stirmi for about a month now and he is about 7inches.
My question is, how can I tell if he is aging?
I feed him roaches, crickets and superworms. BUT if I place these bugs in front of his hideout the bugs eventually get away because the Stirmi never comes out after them. The ONLY...
You can obviously see the black blue abdomen but shes eating a super worm right now
I ordered my first t today! Little gbb sling from Jamie's tarantulas! Super excited!
What is the worst or funniest advice you've ever gotten from an under-informed pet shop employee?
Mine would have to be one of these two statements. Both were said by the same girl and are somewhat paraphrased here:
A: "That there Tiger Rump molted yesterday. It looked like it was having a...
...the neighbors son gets sick and the first thing you do is ask the parents about their keeping parameters.
...you buy all kinds of healthy fruits, but only the cigarettes are for yourself.
...you can only smile when getting asked "Aren't those venomous?"
...you see the hamsters of the...
This morning my juvenile Brachypelma vagans almost made a daring escape. It had been housed in a small critter keeper that had originally been of the sort that houses crickets (Cricket Keeper) but had been repurposed to hold the T. I had simply taped over the holes intended for the cricket "tubes"....
Hello, yesterday I just received my P. canceridies sling (3/4") and after a few hours once it seemed to stop pacing around it's enclosure I fed it half a medium mealworm. At first I thought it was going to be easy since it was eating it out in the open, but once it was done, it would drag it in...
So i just brought a 1/2 inch Salmon Pink Birdeater sling from Jamie's tarantula, I know the basic care for it i just wanted tips from other people on how they keep there Lp happy and there enclosure setup pictures would be great
My wonderful E. cyan just passed away of unknown causes. Had her from a tiny sling. Seven years or so. Dunno. Whenever I started coming to these boards for advice. Having no clue what I'd just gotten myself into is what got me here. I'm just so sad tonight. :(
I recently got a 1/2 inch LP but unfortunately my little brother opened up the enclosure while I was in another room and now there is a LP on the loose I really dont want it to die any tips on finding it or something to help it live wherever it is
I've recently been keeping T's, but I have been studying up on how to care for them for a few years now. I had started with three species, B. emilia, G. pulchripes and P. cancerides. Unfortunately the Brachypelma and Grammostola died while shipping so the Phormictopus is left. It's small, .75" and...
So, I've been eyeballing certain species (groups of species) to pick up at the next expo in September, but I'd love some input! I'm picking up a bunch of species, and though these are ultimately specimens that will end up as my pets, they will first be contributing to a study I'm doing this coming...
How long did they typically take to molt to maturity, from what size did ya get em, and all that fun stuff.
Ive now been given permission to get some more T's.
Im thinking of getting A.versicolor. I have a 30x30 exo terra do you think this would be tall enough?
A different question off topic from the first.
As i can now expand on my collection what other Ts would you suggest for a noob. A...
What are some newer T's to the American hobby? T's that just became available or will become available in the near future? I want something in my collection that very little to no other people have.
