The title pretty much says it all. I bought it a week ago from a local pet store. It's 1/4" or 1/3" ish. The abdomen is the same size as the carapace, maybe a little smaller. He's too small to get a decent picture of. I can get a bad one if it'll help. So far I've tried different parts of a cricket...
I have kept pokies for many years, P. Miranda is becoming one my favorite.
Any other Miranda fans out there :)
Why do you like or dislike them ?
Hey there, I was wondering about dwarf species. Ive kinda decided for my third T I want a dwarf but I only know of two. What are dwarfs you've had that you've liked? Or ones you know of? Thanks
So my Poecilotheria Pederseni (Vittata) has been growing super duper fast and he/she is looking beautiful. I doubt you can sex him/her cause they are so small but I threw in some pics just incase someone can prove me wrong! He/she always comes out of hiding and waits for a cricket in that exact...
I'd love to hear what others have named their Ts! I have ten, here they are:
Emerald green- booger
Arizona blonde- ShyFloyd
MM Rosie- noodles
MF Rosie- angry
Carlsbad green- white face (bc her helmet is white and the rest of her body is black...)
Mex fire leg- consuela
Instead of buying a adult regalis I bought 3 1" slings. 2 of them are 4"-4.5" while the other is only 3" give or take. All of them were kept the same conditions. However I have this one that seems not to be growing as fast and is considerably smaller than the other 2.
I am the proud guardian of two wonderful slings. One is a GBB named JewlZ, and the second is a LP named Pickles. I've noticed something odd about their respective behaviors and was wondering if anyone else had observed similar traits.
My GBB JewlZ spends all of her time in an...
Ok so last night in preparation for my 5 new slings coming today I decided to rehouse 2 of my B. albopilosums that I recently received from a member here as a freebie. These guys are the smallest slings I have. Both about 1/4". And although they were in appropriate sized containers, they were in...
Surely you all did like I did and researched before you started in the hobby... So what was the T that drew you into the hobby?
Not your first, or your favorite, but the T you saw that made you go 'Wow, I really want to get more into this!'.
Mine has to be L. violacepes and the P. metallica....
About two days ago I fed all my Ts. I usually leave the crickets in the spiders tank for 24h to see if they'll eat them. All of my Ts ate their crickets except one; my C.fimbriatus. He ate a cricket the week before so I didn't think he was in pre-moult. I was wrong. I found him last night with a...
He tried. She responded positively - right up until the time she tried to eat him. Then things went downhill fast.

First off, im pretty excited because i just got 2 brand new slings today! And I personally like to name all my pets, not just the dogs. And im a huge movie fan, so most of my exotic pets are named after either actors or characters from my favorite films. For example, I have G Pulchripes sling named...
So I wanted to run to the boards and shout about my WC Aphonopelma eutylenum laying a sac a few weeks ago, but I resisted. Don't count your eggs before they hatch and all that; for all I knew, they could have been duds. Well, yesterday at 22 days I went ahead and pulled the sac--nice and loose, as...
So,yea,I made a stupid mistake, and thought I'd share.I came home from the White Plains show with 30 new spiders.Upon arrival,I found one of my 10 new P.cancerides was dead.Full out death curl, put the little guy in my hand to make sure, but it was dead. So,I threw it in the garbage,(too small to...
This has been one of the main news stories of the day here in Ireland. Talk about fear mongering.
Apparantly tarantulas are 'poisonousness'(the exact spelling in the article). Also they fail to mention what species of funnel web spider was found.
These two are the only ones I could see and take out of their enclosures
This is my G. Pulchripes
Got her a year ago...
Next my B. Albopilosum
My Aphonopelma MF sealed up her burrow nearly 2 months ago. I looked over my Ts today and much to my surprise her burrow was open and she was sitting in a corner. Glad to have you back, Daisy!
This is the first time I've experienced that sort of reclusive behavior, though I've heard of it many...
I don't have one of these but definitely a gorgeous T!
reminds me of volcano lava, does anyone have one of these that can tell me about care, cost, communal etc??
I'm all moved in to my new place in AZ and everything is good except one thing. The spiders are in the kitchen set up all over the counters and I have this 6' wall space in my living room where I would like to put shelving. The tv will not be where it is now. I have looked at ikea billy bookcases,...
I don't want to upload the picture to spider ID, because I do not own the image. I found this picture through google image search and am in love with the coloration.
Here is a link to the picture, but I warn it is dead and a little squashed. :(
Visiting the 'origin' page...
So I haven't posted anything for a good year or so and I kinda just wanted to tell you guys about my new T's and kinda introduce myself since I am really getting active again in the hobby.
I got my first T when I was 13 and it of course was a G. Rosea.
I am now 15 with 4 more T's which are:...
yeah. iIve been hanging out here for ten years now. The entire time having one (1) Tarantula. (I've owned others, but ony singles that always moulted male.) "Well," you might say, "that must be one special spider. A spider amongst spiders, one that eliminates the need for any other species!"
Hey everyone! I am going to be dedicating an entire room for my spiders, as the collection is growing fast! Ae there any suggestions that anyone has
concerning a preferred method of arranging the room? It is almost perfectly square with two windows on the east and west walls. Does shelving do ok?...
I got two G. Pulchra slings awhile back and had read that they can/do burrow but I'm still amazed at their ability to bulldoze substrate and burrow. One of my slings decided to remove itself from display and burrow under it's hide. Three weeks went by no sign of it nor it being out. No hole for...
Here is my adult female Acanthoscurria geniculata.
