Hello,

Has anyone been stung by a Central American C. gracilis (as opposed to the Florida type)? If so, what were the symptoms?

Thanks.

Mexico, Veracruz, juvenile scorpion. Was painful for about 7 minutes. I rolled over a stone, and rested my knuckles on the grass, and a juvenile C. gracilis had run away from the exposed spot to exactly where I put my hand.

At first I thought it was a cactus or something similar.

BTW: I am quite sure that this is not the average pain sensation of a C. gracilis sting no matter where it lives. I guess I was lucky.

All my C. gracilis are Central American, so I just opt to avoid getting stung ;). I HAVE however been tempted to let one of my 4I sting me out of curiosity but it only goes as far as thought.

In the sting reports forum the report for the US native, seemed rather harsh.
