I have always found huge beetles to be fascinating and it would be also very cool to mount them after their time was up.

Anyone have any ideas where i could buy some big beetle larvae? Like stag beetle size.

Also is it illegal to keep Goliath beetles?

grubs are real hard to come by many times..and are very hard to raise.

There are a few people here that raise the big grubs. Try sending a PM to Beetlexperience(?) maybe it's Beetle-experience, I can't quite remember.

Unfortunately, as you live in the USA, the usual answer would appear to be yes, you need permits to import and keep ''exotic'' species like Goliathus in the USA and these are very rarely (never ?) granted to private individuals.

I'm rearing a batch of Goliathus goliathus larvae at the moment, there is a diary thread here:

Try the ads on insectnet.com. Over the years I've found a number of species for sale. Mainly US stuff, but there are some really neat US species. There is also a number of web pages devoted to keeping and breeding beetles - start searching around and you'll find all sorts of interesting stuff.

Shoot I just stumbled across this below http://www.arachnoboards.com/ab/showthread.php?t=96207. Everything you need, except the beetles.

Best,

Chuck
