help my centipede..

i recently got this centipede from a friend..
notice that it has mites?
how can you get rid of those mites?..

clean out the container very well mites can cause problems
make sure you take out the corpses too

You have to let it get really, really dry to the point you might dehydrate the pede and make sure there is good airflow in the enclosure. A KK with a fan nearby is a good way to do this. Give the centipede water just often enough to keep it alive- barely. When the mites go then moisten the pedes substrate correctly.

I have had a similar problem in the past and tried all sorts of ways to get rid of the mites. Nothing worked for me but drying them out, and there is a small chance you loose the animal, but the mites can eventually kill it anyway. My problem went away when I made sure there was proper airflow in all my containers (I put 2 occillating fans in the room which helped ALOT ).
