Are they known to burrow heavily or are they more prone to hide under dug out scrapes? Is four inches of compressed sand enough?

Thanx

Mat,

My A.bicolor seem to use scrapes or build burrows that go much further horizontaly than vertically. 4" should be fine.

Cheers,
Dave

I have an Androctonus australis. I have provided deep enough substrate for burrowing, but the scorp loves the pile of potsherds I have provided and stays tucked out of sight most of the time.
